Tim aces his test!!!

Tim probably never did that in high school but I'm glad it happened now. I got the call this morning and Tim's PET scan was unable to detect any areas of active cancer in his bones from the top of his head to his toes. PHEW!!!! The bad news is they have not been able to find any cause for his back pain so muscle spasm is still the default diagnosis even though it does not seem to be behaving
that way. Tim wants to try the stretching machine at a chiropractor's office. Our docs shudder
to hear the "c" word. So do I. The last one I went to made me worse. Our docs had one patient get his back broken from an adjustment and an ambulance had to be called to get him off the table and bring him to the ER. Tim is itching to do something 'cause so far, we're not making much progress. If he lays down a long time, he gets up and feels better for a few minutes but the pain kicks right back in again. Tim did go to Olivia's play Friday night. I was not a bit surprised. A half hour before we were to leave, he washed his hair, shaved, got dressed and went there with crutches. He sat in a chair for an agonizing 2 hours. That's one dedicated Dad. Oh well. I'm just so glad that this test turned out well. Onward and upward. Happy Easter/Passover/Spring everyone!!!

So glad Tim aced his test. I've found accupuncture very helpful for pain management in the past.

Great news for the A+ on the MM test! Looking forward to hearing that your team has vanquished Tim's pain. Extra extra credit for not missing your daughter's event! Best wishes.

I was diagnosed with MM in 2003 after experiencing extreme back pain that left me using a walker. I was misdiagnosed so many times for so many months by so many professtionals. I ended up having 11 tiny hairline fractures that nobody could ever see!! I had Vertebroplasty (sp) and now I stand on my own with hardly any pain. Keep looking into this and pushing for the answer.

Lisa,
Thank you for this info. If you see this response, I am curious to know how they finally did find these tiny fractures. Tim seems to be getting better everyday and I do think this was disc related but
I know all too well how things can go undiagnosed and will be looking into this further if he does not improve back to his normal state.
Please let me know here or by my e-mail how they saw it.
