They're driving me CRAZY

Well, it's another one of those times when I feel like taking off for a vacation all by myself before I completely lose my mind. I have never done this, by the way, hence the mind left long ago, no
forwarding address. The not-so-subtle hints to my husband and child that they really have to
stop dropping things in my lap that they are capable of and/or responsible for have failed miserably. All efforts to clone me 2 or 3 times so I could spread my duties out amongst several Denises have (been vetoed by those who know me) failed so today, in a last ditch effort
to make my housemates think and do for themselves, I have posted the following sign in a prominent place in the kitchen.

OPERATION INDEPENDENCE

Our new policy, beginning 11/1/2010, is to try to handle tasks ON YOUR OWN before asking MOM/WIFE to do it for you. If you have made an honest attempt to do something and find that you need help, then you can ask for her assistance. All efforts to help Mom/Wife keep her sanity intact(what's left of it) are greatly appreciated!!!

THANK YOU!!!

I don't know how much responsibility you can heap onto someone before they go completely bonkers but I think I have come frighteningly close to finding out these last few years.
I am tired, over-worked, under-appreciated and must be speaking in tongues as nothing I say seems to get through to anyone around here. I'll bet Wisconsin is nice this time of year.

With it's any help I can empathise with the spousal issue - B told me this morning at 07:10 AM! when I asked if he wanted a milky coffee (something he can't do himself, he can't do cheese on toast either and I'm not supposed to blog that) that he'd earned one. He said this with a straight face. How had he earned this? By washing Buddy's dishes. Stainless steel ones in which had been water or dry dog food! It's a good job he was then going to bed as he must have earned a lie down too! ;D

I have a retreat in the jungle for y'all... just head south and turn left at the banyan tree and it's about 100 kilometers down a muddy path - and I guarantee no one will find you!
